This event paid tribute to the heroism and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought during the winter of 1944-1945, while shedding light on the history of the famous “Hogans 400.”

An immersive historical reenactment

Following the tremendous success of the previous edition in 2023, which brought together more than 110 enthusiasts from across Europe and the United States, this new edition proved to be even more immersive and impressive. Over the course of four days, participants had the opportunity to dive into history through a meticulous reenactment of Taskforce Hogan.
The event took place in the very locations where these historical events originally unfolded, recreating the scenes with remarkable accuracy.

The emotional return of the Hogan and Guidry families

Among the highlights was the long-awaited return of the family of Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Hogan, hero of Taskforce Hogan, which left a deep impression. They were accompanied by the daughter of Private First Class (PFC) Guidry, a member of this unit under Colonel Hogan’s command. Their presence reminded everyone of the personal and human dimension of these commemorations.

The commemorative night march

Another powerful moment was the commemorative night march, retracing the paths taken by the Hogans 400 eighty years ago.
It was a solemn and moving experience, where every step recalled the harsh conditions endured by the soldiers during that freezing winter.

Commemorative ceremonies

Several ceremonies were also held throughout the event to honor the Allied soldiers and civilians who fell during this decisive battle. Speeches, wreath-laying, and moments of reflection served as powerful reminders of the price of freedom.
